Go to gtchannel.com for more car videos and content. Can theses cars stand the heat? http – We take productions sport cars to the limit by putting them on a multiple lap around the Tsukuba track on a very hot Summer day. Oil & Water temps, and tire wear along with lap times are the criteria.

    • @sp33dybaron why is it shameful? the s2000 is lighter and has more power….

    • This just shows how amazingly balanced the S2000 is, and how lightness affects the results !!

    • rx-8 are affordable easy now… concidering the price of a dc5 you can easily afford to upgrade the rx-8 to keep up.

    • wow.. it’s been 40 mins already?

    • Damn Evo IV, VI TME, and VII retired :(

    • at 21:36 you can CLEARLY see that the tire on the s2k is a right sided tire that has been mismounted on the left side. it’s not that the tire is mis mounted on the rim, it’s just that it’s on the wrong side of the car. it doesn’t make that much of a difference on dry tarmac but the water evacuating grooves would channel water TOWARD the center of the tire instead of outward.

    • you guys are crazy awesome! i love this video! subscribed!!!

    • @Xn4W Yes that makes sense. My point was that I think that engine can easily handle a few more degrees and still run just fine. The only reason they had to slow down is because of that preset limit, not because of loss of performance. A engine that is truly getting too warm will suffer performance loss.

    • @TheJoePepper i think the heat issue with the nsx is mostly do to middle engine layout where cooling isn’t the most efficient compared to the rest of the cars where the engines in the front.

    • evos ftw! you would expect the sti and evo to do worst because of turbos overworking the little 2.0 liter but it did exactly the opposite. gg.

    • I can’t say that I agree with their recommended temperature limits. Different cars are designed to have different limits. For example; the only reason the NSX had to back off is because of this somewhat arbitrary limit imposed on it. It didn’t have to back off because of performance issues; the drivers never said it was performing worse. They really shouldn’t have forced the drivers to slow down because of high temps.

    • At 21:35 when they show the S2000′s great tires and turning the wheel, you can see it is mounted on the rim improperly. It probably doesn’t matter on a dry surface though…

    • @sp33dybaron yeah, turning the heater on will allow the hot air to evacuate the engine compartment, effectively cooling the engine. Although yeah the driver will get roasted lol
